Our
Story
A decade of turning Rwanda's finest hardwoods into pieces that outlast generations.
“Africa has always had the finest wood, the finest hands, and the finest eye. Atelier Gihanga exists to show the world what Rwanda can build — on our own terms.”
Born from a
Love of Wood
Atelier Gihanga was founded in Kigali with a singular mission: to celebrate what Africa has always had — extraordinary hardwoods, extraordinary hands, and a craftsmanship tradition that needs no validation from anywhere else.
We source exclusively from sustainably managed Rwandan forests. Every plank is hand-selected for grain, density, and character. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is compromised.
Today, our pieces grace the homes of Kigali's most discerning residents, the offices of Rwanda's leading companies, and the lobbies of the country's finest hotels.

Our Principles
Sustainability
Every plank comes from responsibly managed Rwandan forests. We plant two trees for every one we use.
Craftsmanship
No CNC machines. No shortcuts. Every joint is hand-cut, every surface hand-finished by master artisans.
Heritage
Centuries of Rwandan woodworking tradition, reinterpreted for the modern world without losing its soul.
